Anesthesia Technologist - Full Time - SLRMC

Anesthesia Support Techs Duties consist of: Monday thru Friday checks on all 4 Core Sterilizers, Sterrad NX Sterilizer, Anesthesia Machine to meet federal required standards. Checks Room Temp And Humidity daily Monday thru Friday to meet Standard requirements and reports all temps and Humidity out of range to Maintenance. Reports all failed test to the Director and arranges repairs as needed. Maintains all anesthesia supplies and break room supplies. Cleans and sterilizes maintains all anesthesia supplies required for their practice. Keeps all anesthesia carts maintained and stocked. Provides support for anesthesia at all times while on shift.
When Not Performing Anesthesia Support Tech duties They will assist in Regular support tech duties as follows: transports patients and ensures adequate help is available when moving patients. Helps with Unit clerk duties as required. Prepares, handles, and transports specimens. Assists with room turnovers. Orders and stocks supplies as necessary. Maintains all anesthesia supplies and equipment every morning. Maintains patient care supplies and equipment. Puts equipment away. Cleans equipment. Runs sterilizer controls and maintains sterilization logs.
Ensures medical supplies and equipment are sterilized and in proper working condition. Puts instruments away. Performs routine housekeeping duties in compliance with infection control standards. Observes and reports information on patient needs to licensed personnel. Follows guidelines that maintain safety for oneself, patients, visitors and co-workers and adheres to OSHA standards by wearing personal protective equipment, following standard precautions and being knowledgeable about blood borne pathogens. Wears pager; responds when paged. Point of Care Testing, including collection, testing and reporting as it relates to job position. Performs other duties as may be assigned. Performs all duties in a manner that promotes and supports the Standards of Conduct for IASIS Healthcare. Demonstrates support of the Medical Center’s mission, values and vision in all actions and interactions with employees, patients, medical staff, guests and visitors through use of STAR key words: Service, Teamwork, Accountability/Attitude, Responsiveness.
- Prefer High School graduate or equivalent.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, sterilization techniques is strongly preferred.
- Certified Nurse Aide licensure is strongly preferred.
- Able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages are preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge.
