Assistant Director Nursing-Behavioral Health
Reports to CNO and is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and maintain the management and delivery of quality patient care on all shifts within assigned service area (Psychiatry Services nursing units). Regularly reviews and revises, as necessary, standards of care ensuring compliance with department and Hospital-wide performance improvement initiatives. Participates in investigation and resolution of patient concerns and complaints and ensures compliance with Hospital and regulatory agency requirements.
A. Coordinates patient care services provided by staff assigned to the unit.
B. Functions as a resource person for staff members and assists in necessary education of individual members of nursing staff with a focus on promoting clinical competence in the provision of nursing.
C. Assumes responsibility for the quality of nursing care provided by the staff assigned to the unit, including the implementation of programs to improve this quality.
D. Ensures adherence to standards in the Intensive Care Services based on Hospital Administrative Standards, Human Resource Standards, Department of Nursing Standards, and unit standards with collaboration with the Clinical Director in unusual situations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A.Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse.
B.Master’s degree in Nursing or related field required. Accredited school preferred.
C.Clinical practice with an emphasis on leadership and management experience preferred.
D.Current CPR. ACLS completed within 90 days.
E.CPI required within 30 days.
