POSITION SUMMARY: 
 
The West Division CDI Manager position shall manage the Steward clinical documentation improvement program that includes oversight of hospital CDI specialists and electronic capture application.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The West Division Manager of Clinical Documentation Improvement shall report to the Executive Director of Health Information Management. The position shall drive improvements to CDI Specialist workflow, productivity, analyze public reported data, promote physician education, produce CDI tools, and assist with program standardization.
 
The position will be responsible for communicating the Steward CDI Dashboard to organizational leadership monthly. Assist the Executive Director HIM with additional clinical documentation improvement key performance indicators.
 
The position will be expected to work closely with hospital CDI Specialists to improve defined CDI key performance indicators.
 
The position shall demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the MS-DRG system, APR-DRG methodology, CCs/MCCs, impact on quality report, PPR, Case Mix Index, ICD-10 coding system, and UHDDS guidelines as it relates to Clinical Documentation Improvement.
 
The West Division CDI Manager position shall serve as a resource to the hospital CDI Specialists.
The position will assist the Executive Director HIM on additional policy and procedure development along with supporting Revenue Cycle functions such as denial appeals. 
 
 
 


Qualifications

SKILL OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
 
The position requires 2-5 years of Clinical Documentation Improvement experience within an acute care hospital setting.
 
EDUCATION OR SPECIFIC TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
 
Bachelor’s Degree
Registered Nurse (RN)
 
ADDITIONAL SKILLS NEEDED:
 
Microsoft Office, moderate computer skills, ability to create educational materials, excellent critical thinking skills, knowledge and understanding of pathology and pathophysiology, and ability effectively prioritize work assignments. 
 
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
 
Expected travel is 25% and will office out of the Steward Corporate Office in Dallas, TX.
