Director of Quality and Regulatory Compliance

Responsible for the management, professional development, budgetary control and leadership in directing departmental operations for outcomes management, case management, risk management, infection control, safety management and survey preparedness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures processes are implemented to evaluate and identify opportunities for improvement in the provision of high quality, safe and resource effective patient care.
  • Recommends strategies to improve clinical performance and enhance patient safety.
  • Ensures processes are in place to comply with Quality and Performance Improvement and as applicable with Case Management / Utilization Management, Infection Control, Risk Management, Patient Safety, Peer Review, Medical Staff and Accreditation functions.
  • Monitors, in partnership with the medical staff, outcomes of hospital clinical care activities, identifies opportunities for improvement, and leads clinical improvement activities.
  • Ensures documentation of outcomes hospital wide is presented to the required committees.
  • Ensures hospital compliance with accreditation, licensing, and regulatory agencies.
  • Performs all activities for monitoring quality of care to meet internal facility objectives and external accreditation and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in and/or leads designated performance improvement teams as indicated and according to the organization's strategic priorities, e.g., population-specific core measures teams, readmission reduction, reduction of preventable harm, etc.
  • Oversees performance of quality and safety monitoring activities necessary to support clinical and administrative staff with ongoing evaluation of care processes and outcomes.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of performance improvement, outcomes and quality management, case management
  • Current understanding of TJC, ACHA and Federal regulations.
  • Must have computer literacy and understanding of statistics, database, and spreadsheet analysis.
  • Must maintain high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to lead and coordinate activities of a diverse group of people.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE/TECHNICAL/OTHER:

  • Education: BSN required; MBA, MHA or MS Preferred
  • Experience (Type & Length): Minimum 3 years’ experience in quality management, case management, risk management or the evaluation of clinical services in a hospital setting preferred.
  • License/Certification: RN in the State of Florida
  • Other: CPHQ, CCM Certification Preferred
