Description
The role of the Practical Radiographer is to provide outstanding support to physicians and healthcare providers while providing exceptional care to patients and customers within the clinical scope of a Practical Radiographer.  The Practical Radiographer performs a variety of patient care related tasks including preparation of patients, performance of diagnostic tests and completion of appropriate documentation. Practical Radiographers are responsible for ensuring the smooth operations in the fast paced environment of the clinic with the goal of a positive patient experience with every encounter. 
Key Responsibilities
Performs limited scope radiographic procedures under a variety of conditions for patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric demographics
Prepares patients to be seen by physicians
Assists provider with collection, documentation, processing, and verification of information related to patient care
Keeps patients informed of wait times and manages visit expectations
Performs diagnostic tests and processes and enters results
Prepares injections and prescription refills as required by the healthcare provider
Communicates patient concerns and needs to the healthcare provider 
Timely responses to patient inquiries and timely completion of assigned tasks
Assists in routine clerical functions such as filing of medical information in patient's records,
Completes assigned training and education
Performs other duties as determined by the Practice Manager or Clinic Director


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
This position requires verifiable successful completion of an accredited Radiology Practical Technician (limited scope) program
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Current Utah State Radiology Practical Technician certification
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively on the phone, in writing and via email
Ability to exercise discretion on sensitive and confidential matters
Demonstrated computer skills with data entry software
Must be able to flex schedule in accordance with patient and provider schedules
Institutional accreditation, degree obtainment and license credentials will be verified upon hire
Preferred Qualifications:
One or more years experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting
One or more years of Radiology Practical Technician (limited scope) experience
One or more years experience using electronic medical records (EMR)

 
Physical Requirements:
Standing, sitting, walking, speaking, listening, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and manipulating tools, typing, using peripheral computer tools.
