Job Description

The Endo nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluation of a plan which focuses on gastroesophageal testing/treatment for patients in accordance with facility and departmental policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice.  Responsible for the quality of nursing services delivered by self and subordinates.  Able to utilize knowledge, judgment and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide, and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of patients.  The endo nurse works collaboratively with the physician and anesthesia providers to determine needs during the endoscopic and GI procedures and to assume responsibility for patient care, document, and evaluate effectiveness of nursing actions and ensure a safe environment of care.



Qualifications

Current license as a Registered Nurse in Louisiana. Must have at least 2 years experience.     BLS, ACLS, and PALS is required.  New Hires must obtain required certifications within 90 days.   Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.  Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and the community.  Good computer skills. Must be self-directed and self-motivated. Call is required and nurse must be able to arrive at the facility with 30 minutes of receiving a call in.
