Job Description

Responsible for the provision of the designation process for both, Maternal and ongoing data collection for the NICU designation. The coordinator will be clinically active in both areas and participating in maternal care, when possible. The coordinator has the authority and responsibility to monitor the provision of maternal patient care from admission, stabilization, operative interventions(s) if applicable, thorough discharge, and inclusive of the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program. The coordinator will collaborate with the Maternal Medical Director (MMD) in areas to include: developing and/or revising policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines; assuring staff competencies, education, and training; and the QAPI program. And, will also frequently lead and participate in the maternal QAPI meetings.
The coordinator will work with the Director of Maternal Services and the Director of NICU-Children Services; and will report directly to the Chief Quality Officer.

Qualifications

Regulatory Requirements:
· Current state Registered Nurse license.
· Certification for Neonatal Resuscitation.
· Current BLS, NRP, and STABLE.
· Two or Three years in Labor and Delivery (L&D) and/or NICU.

Recommended:
ACLS and completed an AWHONN course.
Language Skills:
· Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
· Additional languages preferred.
· Strong written and verbal skills.
Skills:
· Communication skills.

· Organizational skills
· Basic computer knowledge.
